Globalization helps Korea create new identity

In the absence of the clarity, simplicity, and apparent stability of the bipolar superpower conflict in the post-Cold War world, nearly all states are subject to the relentless twin pressures of globalization from without and above and localization from within and below. How does the Republic of Korea cope with such twin pressures? In many respects Korea exemplifies a genuine puzzle.
